Virginia Sheriff's Association Elects New President

Virginia Beach, Virginia, September 17, 2002 - Sheriff Ronald D. Crockett of Lancaster County was elected President of the Virginia Sheriff's Association at its annual conference in Virginia Beach.  On September 17, 2002, over 350 sheriffs, deputies, legislators and special guests from across Virginia attended the ceremony in which Sheriff Crockett was installed as the sixty-ninth President of the Virginia Sheriff's Association.  Mr. William A. Pruitt, Commissioner of the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, was on hand to install Sheriff Crockett.

Sheriff Crockett will serve a one-year term as President of the Virginia Sheriff's Association, which acts as the primary voice for Virginia sheriffs in the Virginia General Assembly and presently enjoys membership of over 6,200 Virginia sheriffs and deputy sheriffs.
